Employment & Skills Partnership
The Employment & Skills Partnership (formerly known as the Regional Employment & Skills Board) is a regional partnership organisation addressing skills and employment issues in the South West. This website has been designed as a resource for the ESP partners and for all those with an interest in employment and skills in the region. It contains details about our priorities, our work and the progress being made in the region, together with news and details of forthcoming events and meetings.
The employment and skills agenda cuts across all economic areas. As the Employment and Skills Partnership we bring together like minded individuals and organisations who recognise that by working together we can make a greater positive difference to the employment and skills issues facing our economy now and in the future. Our aim is to ensure that people have the opportunity of employment, have the skills required by our businesses and the chance to develop these skills throughout their working life. A strongly represented Board and a wider Alliance enables us to focus our collective expertise, knowledge, know-how and experience on ‘challenges’ that must be overcome if we are to make a positive difference.
As an organisation our primary focus is on:
- Bringing together key partners in the employment and skills landscape in order to share information and policy developments
- Providing opportunities to collaborate amongst partners across all economic areas
- Identifying current issues, that are wider than single Local Enterprise Partnership areas, and then working with partners to develop solutions or to raise these issues nationally to Central Government.
- Supporting ESF activity
- Supporting sector and workforce activity
